Refund Policy
This Refund Policy (the “Policy”) sets out the procedure, conditions, and grounds for refunding amounts paid for access to the Shareday service — the website shareday.io, the application app.shareday.io, the public invitation sites on shareday.site subdomains, and related services (together, the “Service”).
This Policy is an integral part of the Terms of Service (the “Terms”). The terms “User”, “Consumer”, “Business Customer”, “Purchase”, and other defined terms have the meanings given in the Terms unless this Policy expressly provides otherwise.
Nothing in this Policy is to be interpreted as limiting, excluding, or narrowing the rights of Consumers guaranteed by mandatory provisions of applicable consumer protection law.
1. General
1.1. Payment processing, including the issuing of refunds, is handled by Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record in accordance with the Terms.
1.2. Refunds are issued only to the same payment method used for the original payment. Once a refund is approved, the time it takes for the funds to arrive depends on the rules of the relevant payment system and issuing bank, and is normally five (5) to ten (10) business days.
1.3. The material terms of each Purchase — including the price, the contents of the plan, and its validity period — are shown to the User before the order is confirmed. The User must check that the order details are correct before paying.
2. One-Time Plan Purchases by Consumers
2.1. Plans for Consumers (individuals organizing their own event for personal purposes unrelated to any business or professional activity) are provided on a one-time purchase basis: a single payment, with no automatic renewal and no additional paid packages.
2.2. Access to the paid features of the Service is provided immediately after the payment is confirmed. By making a Purchase, the Consumer gives their express and unambiguous consent to the immediate supply of the digital service before the statutory withdrawal period expires and acknowledges that, as a result of that consent, they lose the fourteen (14)-day right to withdraw from the contract provided by consumer protection law for distance contracts.
2.3. In view of clause 2.2 of this Policy, voluntary refunds are not provided for one-time Purchases. In particular, none of the following is, by itself, a ground for a refund:
- closing (deleting) the User’s account;
- deleting an event or project;
- cancelling, postponing, or changing the format of the event concerned;
- not using the paid plan, in whole or in part;
- the Consumer changing their mind after making the payment.
2.4. This section does not limit the Consumer’s rights in the cases expressly provided by applicable law, including where the Service is defective (Section 5 of this Policy).
3. Trial Period and Subscriptions for Business Customers
3.1. Trial period. New Business Customers (agencies, planners, coordinators, and others using the Service for professional or commercial purposes) receive a free trial period of fourteen (14) days. No payment details are required to activate the trial; accordingly, nothing is charged automatically when it ends — access to projects is restricted until payment is set up. The purpose of the trial period is to let a Business Customer fully evaluate the Service before making a first payment.
3.2. Subscriptions. Plans for Business Customers operate on an automatically renewing subscription model (monthly or annual). A Business Customer may cancel the subscription at any time in the account settings; the cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for, during which full access to the Service is retained. No refunds are given for partially used or unused subscription periods.
3.3. Renewals. Before the renewal date of an annual subscription, Shareday sends a reminder to the email address specified in the account. If a subscription has renewed and the Business Customer did not intend to continue using the Service, Shareday may, at its own discretion, refund the newly renewed period where both of the following conditions are met: (a) the request was made within a short time after the charge; and (b) the Service’s features were not actually used during the period concerned. Any such refund is made solely as a gesture of goodwill (ex gratia); it is not a legal obligation of Shareday and does not create any obligation to make similar refunds in the future.
3.4. Add-ons. Additional paid subscription options (including additional team seats and the white label feature) are billed together with the main subscription, cancelled in the same way, and subject to the same refund rules as the main subscription.
3.5. Business Customers use the Service in the course of professional or commercial activity, so the rights of withdrawal provided by consumer protection law do not apply to them, unless mandatory provisions of applicable law expressly provide otherwise.
4. Erroneous and Duplicate Charges
4.1. If, as a result of a technical error, a payment was charged twice for the same Purchase, or an amount was charged that does not match the confirmed order, the overpaid amount will be refunded in full once the request has been verified.
5. Service Defects
5.1. If paid features of the Service have material defects or are not provided for reasons for which Shareday is responsible, the User may require the defects to be remedied within a reasonable time and, if they cannot be remedied, a proportionate reduction in price or a refund of the amounts paid, in accordance with applicable law.
5.2. Short interruptions in the operation of the Service caused by scheduled maintenance or by circumstances beyond Shareday’s reasonable control are not defects of the Service and are not grounds for a refund.
6. How to Request a Refund
6.1. A refund request must be sent to refunds@shareday.io from the email address used to register the relevant account, and must state:
- the transaction or receipt number (from the Paddle email);
- the date of the payment;
- the reason for the request.
6.2. Shareday may request additional information needed to verify the request. Requests are handled within fourteen (14) days of receiving all the necessary information.
6.3. Paddle may handle payment-related requests directly, in accordance with its own terms of service.
7. Payment Disputes (Chargebacks)
7.1. Before initiating a payment dispute through a bank or payment system, the User is encouraged to contact Shareday directly, as the vast majority of issues are resolved faster and more easily that way.
7.2. Initiating a knowingly unfounded payment dispute may be a ground for suspending or terminating the User’s access to the Service in the manner provided by the Terms.
8. Changes to This Policy
8.1. Shareday may amend this Policy. The updated version is published with a new effective date and applies to Purchases made after that date.
8.2. Each Purchase is governed by the version of the Policy in effect at the time the Purchase was made.
