This Refund Policy applies to purchases of ShareDay Event Credits, hosting extensions, and other one-time digital products.

Except where required by applicable law or expressly stated in this Policy, Purchases are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.

Submitting a refund request does not guarantee that a refund will be approved.

Nothing in this Policy limits any mandatory consumer right.

1. Definitions

A “Purchase” means an individual transaction through which a Customer purchases one or more Event Credits, a hosting extension, or another paid product.

Each Purchase is considered separately for refund purposes, even where the same Customer has completed multiple Purchases.

An “Event Credit” allows a Customer to publish one event website for the hosting period stated at the time of Purchase.

An Event Credit is “activated” when the corresponding event website is first published and made available online.

Creating an event, importing Guest Data, configuring the website, or viewing a private preview does not activate an Event Credit.

A hosting extension is “applied” when the additional hosting period is added to the relevant event.

2. Discretionary refund of an unused Purchase

ShareDay may, at its discretion, consider a request for a full refund of a specific Purchase where:

  • the request is submitted within 14 days after that Purchase;
  • no Event Credit included in that Purchase has been activated;
  • all Event Credits included in that Purchase remain unused and available for revocation;
  • no hosting extension or other product included in that Purchase has been applied, redeemed, or used;
  • the Purchase has not already been refunded, reversed, disputed, or charged back;
  • there is no evidence of fraud, refund abuse, or manipulative behavior.

Meeting these conditions does not create an automatic or guaranteed right to a refund.

Refund requests are reviewed individually. ShareDay may approve or decline a voluntary refund request after considering the Purchase, product usage, reason for the request, transaction status, fraud risk, and other relevant circumstances.

A voluntary refund granted in one case does not create an obligation to grant a refund in another case.

3. Multiple Purchases

Each Purchase is evaluated separately.

For example, a Customer may purchase:

  • one pack containing five Event Credits; and
  • a later, separate pack containing ten Event Credits.

If Event Credits from the first Purchase have been activated, that first Purchase is considered used.

The later Purchase may still be considered unused if none of its Event Credits has been activated and all of them remain available for revocation.

The use of one Purchase does not automatically make every other Purchase in the same account ineligible for consideration.

ShareDay’s internal records determine which Purchase supplied the Event Credit used for a particular event.

4. No voluntary partial refunds

ShareDay does not provide voluntary partial refunds.

If any Event Credit from a particular Purchase has been activated, that Purchase is not eligible for a voluntary refund under Section 2.

The Customer is not entitled to a voluntary refund for:

  • unused Event Credits remaining in a partially used Purchase;
  • the difference between a pack price and a standalone Event Credit price;
  • a percentage of the price corresponding to unused credits;
  • the unused portion of an applied hosting extension;
  • discounts that the Customer no longer wishes to use.

ShareDay does not recalculate a partially used pack based on standalone credit prices.

5. Duplicate charges and payment errors

Contact refunds@shareday.io promptly if you believe that:

  • the same Purchase was charged more than once;
  • an incorrect amount was charged;
  • you do not recognize a transaction;
  • a checkout or payment-processing error occurred.

Include the transaction or receipt number and any relevant details.

Unauthorized or fraudulent transactions may also need to be reported to the applicable bank, card issuer, or payment provider.

Corrections and refunds for duplicate, unauthorized, fraudulent, or erroneous transactions are handled according to the facts of the transaction, applicable payment rules, and applicable law.

6. Material technical defects

If a persistent material defect prevents you from accessing or using paid ShareDay functionality substantially as described, contact support@shareday.io.

You must provide sufficient information for ShareDay to investigate the issue and must allow ShareDay a reasonable opportunity to correct it.

A refund or other remedy may be appropriate where:

  • the purchased product was not supplied;
  • a material ShareDay defect prevents use of the purchased publishing or hosting functionality;
  • the product is materially not as described;
  • ShareDay cannot resolve the material defect within a reasonable period.

A problem will not ordinarily be considered a ShareDay product defect where it is caused solely by:

  • incorrect Customer Content or Guest Data;
  • Customer configuration or publication settings;
  • incorrect personalization rules;
  • incorrect DNS or registrar configuration;
  • failure to register, maintain, or renew a third-party domain;
  • an unsupported device, browser, integration, or environment whose limitation was disclosed before Purchase;
  • a third-party product or service independently selected and controlled by the Customer;
  • loss, disclosure, or forwarding of a Guest link by a Customer or Guest;
  • circumstances outside ShareDay’s reasonable control.

Nothing in this section limits any mandatory remedy available under applicable law.

7. Circumstances that do not independently create a refund right

Except where mandatory law requires otherwise, the following do not independently create a right to a refund:

  • cancellation, postponement, rescheduling, completion, or another change to the underlying wedding or event;
  • a Customer losing or ending its relationship with its own client;
  • activation or previous publication of an Event Credit;
  • partial use of an Event Credit pack;
  • failure to use an Event Credit;
  • failure to use an Event Credit before its disclosed expiration date;
  • unpublishing or deleting an event;
  • a Guest’s failure to open an invitation, respond, or attend;
  • Customer mistakes in event content, Guest Data, personalization rules, or publication settings;
  • loss or disclosure of a Guest link caused by a Customer or Guest;
  • failure to connect a custom domain because of Customer-controlled DNS, registrar, ownership, renewal, or configuration issues;
  • dissatisfaction with a template or feature that worked substantially as described and was available to preview before publication;
  • account suspension or content removal resulting from a material violation of the Terms of Service;
  • a change in the Customer’s needs, plans, staffing, workload, or business circumstances.

If ShareDay’s supported custom-domain functionality itself has a material technical defect, Section 6 applies.

8. How to request a refund

Send the request to refunds@shareday.io using the email address associated with the Purchase.

Include:

  • your name or account email;
  • the transaction or receipt number;
  • the date and amount of the Purchase;
  • the product or Event Credit pack purchased;
  • whether any Event Credit from that Purchase has been activated;
  • the reason for the request;
  • any relevant screenshots or supporting information.

You may also use any payment-support or buyer-portal link included in the Purchase receipt.

ShareDay aims to review requests submitted directly to ShareDay within five business days. This is a target for reviewing the request, not a guarantee that the refund or payment settlement will be completed within that period.

Approved refunds are processed through the payment provider used for the original Purchase and are ordinarily returned to the original payment method where possible.

The time required for funds to appear depends on the payment provider, payment method, and issuing bank.

ShareDay does not issue cash, cryptocurrency, bank-transfer, or other off-platform refunds for Purchases processed through an online payment provider.

If a full refund is completed:

  • all unused Event Credits included in the refunded Purchase may be revoked;
  • unused hosting extensions or other entitlements included in the Purchase may be revoked;
  • access associated with the refunded Purchase may be suspended or terminated.

9. Chargebacks and payment disputes

Please contact ShareDay before initiating a chargeback so that the issue can be investigated.

A chargeback, payment dispute, or payment reversal may result in temporary suspension of:

  • Event Credits associated with the disputed Purchase;
  • published websites associated with the disputed Purchase;
  • relevant paid account functionality;

while the dispute is reviewed.

Nothing in this section prevents you from exercising a lawful right through your bank, card issuer, payment provider, court, or consumer-protection authority.

10. Mandatory consumer rights

Consumers in some jurisdictions may have mandatory rights to:

  • withdraw from or cancel a contract;
  • require delivery or correction;
  • receive a price reduction;
  • terminate a contract;
  • obtain a full or partial refund.

These rights may apply despite the general non-refundable rule or ShareDay’s voluntary refund criteria.

Any mandatory right applies according to the law governing the relevant Consumer and Purchase.

For certain immediately supplied digital products or services, applicable law may allow a withdrawal right to be limited or lost where the Consumer has given the required prior express consent and acknowledgement.

Activation of an Event Credit does not eliminate any right that cannot lawfully be waived.

Where this Policy provides fewer rights than mandatory law, mandatory law applies.
